GCT’s new range of DBDPE-free, halogen-free Flat Flex Cables (FFCs) is designed to help manufacturers address evolving global chemical compliance requirements without impacting product design or assembly processes. Developed in response to the addition of decabromodiphenyl ethane (DBDPE) to the REACH Substance of Very High Concern (SVHC) candidate list, these cables provide a compliance-focused alternative for applications supplied into the European Union and other regulated markets.
Available in 0.5 mm pitch configurations with 4 to 80 circuits and 1.0 mm pitch configurations with 4 to 50 circuits, the cables support a wide range of board-to-board and board-to-device interconnections. The DBDPE-free construction maintains the same electrical and mechanical interface as conventional FFC solutions, enabling direct replacement without redesign, requalification, or manufacturing process changes.
Fully compatible with existing ZIF, LIF, and flip-lock FFC connectors, these cables maintain identical mating behavior, insertion force, and routing characteristics while helping manufacturers reduce compliance risk. Make-to-order configurations are also available to match existing cable specifications.
